What WILL I think up next?

No better place to buy glasses. Prices are way lower than ANYWHERE else in town, quality of merchandise is very high. And even paying for a yearly membership, when buying glasses, it's still cheaper than LensCrafter, EyeMasters, Sears, JCPenney, WalMart (yes, it is), and every private optical company selling glasses. Many in the Art Car Community use Smith Opticians. I love that guy and I love his funky glasses. If you want a bargain, you can usually get it there. When you add anti-reflective coating, polished edges, poly carbonate lenses and/or polarization, the costs get real high - but for your basics and frames found no where else, Smith Opticians is the place. For a great deal on extras with a set of glasses, no one can beat Costco.
Addendum - 11/08 -Zenni Optical - www.zennioptical.com   Wow!  What a find!!  My art car friend, Tracy, is always wearing the coolest glasses, and it seems like she has a pair to go with every outfit!  That's because she basically does.  And you can too when you use this online company to order your prescription glasses.  You'll need your PD (pupilary distance), so make sure your optician or ophthalmologist measures that for you as it's usually done by the store you order your glasses from - they give you instructions on how to do this at home if this isn't convenient.  As you'll read on this site, your PD doesn't change as your prescription does.  There's tons of options and loads of instructions to help guide you through ordering.  I suggest getting out your mm measuring tape, comparing sizes of lense height, length, frame width, etc, then go!  Starting at $8 for frames, lenses with UV protection, polished edges, anti scratch, hard case, cleaning cloth and guarantee, you can't lose.  I really thought Costco was the end all do all, but I was wrong.  Zenni will add anti-reflective coating (a must), tint, bifocals, progressives, even whacked out prescriptions for an added cost, but it's still WAY less than any other place to get glasses. No polarized lenses would be my only complaint.  This is probably the best kept secret involving glasses that anyone could possibly run across.  Takes 2 weeks to get them, but big deal!
