My newest art car, Shattered Vanity, has everything to do with aging and nothing to do with a broken bathroom mirror! Created in the first 5 months of 2007, this 1997 Honda Accord was purchased "used", with just this project in mind. I bought 2mm thick mirror tiles and cut them into little pieces. Then I sifted thru them to find that perfect piece during assembly. GE donated all of the Black Silicone II for this project. My hubby and I spent a weekend attaching LED flexible lighting under the body, inside the wheel wells and on top of the car. These LEDs have 7 color options and 116 alternating strobing effects. Since each mirror piece has been cut and not broken, you'd be hard pressed to cut yourself.... altho my friend Fred says I need a sticker that says, "Do not lick". Ha! Every piece was put on at an angle so that light reflections would not point out in any one direction. I used to get 30 mpg, now I get 24. She is my "daily driver", my everyday vehicle. She won 1st Place Daily Driver in Houston's 2007 and 2009 Art Car Parade, and 2nd place Daily Driver AND 2nd place in Best in Show Over All in 2008. This is my 3rd personal art car. I only make my art cars out of Hondas because they last so long. (There are TWO sets of pictures below, once you scroll thru one, make sure to page down and continue!)
It's yours for $40,000
